2002-2003 OFHL Schedule Notes:
The 2002-2003 Ohioville Fantasy Hockey League Season ushers
the return of the OFHL's infamous two-division alignment comprised
of the OFHL East and West. With this arrangement, the OFHL has made
sure that each OFHL team's schedule is as "divisionally weighted"
as possible.
Since the top six playoff slots are filled by the top three teams
in each division, divisional-weighting seems to be the fairest approach
to scheduling. Therefore, teams will play fellow divisional teams twice. For
the most part, teams will play teams outside of their division only once;
there will be one non-divisional foe that each OFHL team will play twice.
Specifically, each OFHL team will play 12 games against divisional
foes, whereas they will play 8 games against non-divisional teams.
With regard to team divisional assignment, teams were appointed to the same
divisions they were in last season. (Note the only exceptions are that the
Studpuppies are now Megahurtz owned by Nick Recce, a one-time, part-owner of the
Klingons from the West -- and the Carbonite Tigers are now The Humble Bumbles
owned by John Byers.) The 2002-2003 OFHL Schedule was developed as follows:
team schedule letters (A-G) were distributed to the OFHL East, while schedule
letters (H-N) were given to the OFHL West. Each team was assigned a schedule
letter with the roll of an 8-sided die (from my Dungeons and Dragons playing
days) as follows: 1=A/H, 2=B/I, 3=C/J, 4=D/K, 5=E/L, 6=F/M, 7=G/N, 8=G/N.
