2001-2002 OFHL Schedule Notes:
The 2001-2002 Ohioville Fantasy Hockey League Season ushers
the return of the OFHL's infamous two-division alignment comprised
of the OFHL East and West. With the adoption of
this arrangement, the OFHL has made sure that each OFHL team's
schedule is "divisionally weighted."
Since the top six playoff slots are filled by
the top three teams in each division, a divisionally weighted
schedule makes sense. Therefore, teams will play teams within their
division twice. For the most part, teams will play teams outside of
their division only once; there will be one non-divisional foe that
each OFHL team will place twice.
Specifically, each OFHL team will play 12 games against divisional
foes, whereas they will only play 8 games against non-divisional teams.
Finally, divisional assignment was based on past divisional alignment of
OFHL teams. Obviously some modifications had to be made with the addition
of two new teams, but the divisional alignment closely resembles that of
the 1999-2000 OFHL Season. Team schedule letters (A-G) were distributed
to the OFHL East, while schedule letters (H-N) were given to the OFHL West.
Each team was assigned a schedule letter by rolling an 8-sided die (left over
from my Dungeons & Dragons playing days...)
